COVID Documentary Project
-Fall 2020-
Students design and shoot an Interview Documentary project focusing on the COVID 19 Pandemic
The goal of this project is to tell a human interest story, demonstrating knowledge of course equipment and Premiere Pro.
Short form documentaries will include:

Multiple Interviews, b-roll, music, graphics, and a clear Narrative Structure.
The following requirements and guidelines should be followed for the documentary:

3-5 min in length from fade up to fade out (credits do NOT count towards runtime)

Minimum of 3 Interviews, Intercut throughout Project

2 Sit Down Formal Interviews - 1 On the Street / Informal Interviews

B-Roll throughout the project often and where appropriate

Unique Introduction to the Project, preferably a Stand-up or voice over

Introductory Title Graphic and Lower 3rds where appropriate

Still or Rolling Credits at the end
Other Criteria:

Good Composition and use of medium shots, close-ups and medium close-ups throughout

Good Image Control and proper exposure, white balance and focus throughout

Good Editing and control of temporal and spatial continuity

Music underneath in appropriate places.

Good Narrative Structure - Interviews Clearly Edited and Rearranged for maximum effect

Participation in group shooting and unique version of individual edit
